What’s Hot in the City this first weekend of summer?

Tonight, the national tour of the 2012 Tony Award-winning musical Newsies continues its Boston run at the Boston Opera House at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $34-$134; www.boston.broadway.com.

Also tonight is a performance by three-time Grammy winner Keb’ Mo’ performing at The Wilbur at 8 p.m. Tickets: $40-$50; www.ticketmaster.com.

The third annual Boston Jerkfest and Rum & Brew Tasting featuring top local Caribbean chefs offering authentic jerk-spiced foods, Caribbean home-made beverages, and live music takes place this Friday and Saturday at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in the South End.
