Danny Glover, celebrated actor and social justice advocate, will deliver the keynote address at the ABCD Annual Gala on Nov. 7 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. The event draws an audience of several hundred movers and shakers from the business, entertainment, philanthropic and human services communities.
The ROOTS of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” fame and four-time Grammy award winning hip-hop/soul band will provide musical entertainment. The entire ABCD community is excited about the upcoming Gala and its potential to aid Boston’s most vulnerable residents. “This is a major fundraiser to benefit the ABCD Winter Emergency Campaign and other key ABCD programs,” said President/CEO John Drew. “Every ticket bought, every sponsorship, every auction bid will help us provide low-income seniors and working families with heat, warm clothing, and other items that enable them to survive the bitter New England winter and move forward with their lives.”
Emceed by Boston’s dynamic TV personality Bianca de la Garza, the Gala will feature a live auction. In addition, guests will enjoy cuisine prepared by three of Boston’s celebrity chefs, including Liquid Art House’s Rachel Klein, the blue-haired house kitchen chef from Abbey Lane, Jason Santo, and rising star chef Justin Winters of Cinquecento restaurant.
ABCD serves more than 100,000 low-income Boston-area residents annually through its central offices and a decentralized network of Neighborhood Service Centers, Head Start centers, Family Planning sites and Foster Grandparent sites.
