Lawrence Mayor Daniel Rivera endorsed State Treasurer Steve Grossman in his campaign for governor this week, highlighting his record of creating jobs and economic opportunity.
“Steve Grossman brings to the Corner Office a track record of creating jobs and widespread economic opportunity,” said Rivera. “The people of Lawrence will have a bold, confident, and proven leader to fight for economic fairness everyday with Steve as their governor.”
“Dan is a pioneering leader, and we share a vision for our Commonwealth that levels the playing field for all people, no matter where they come from and how much money they have,” said Grossman. “We both believe that the ZIP code in which you are born must not determine the quality of your education or your economic prospects.”
Last week, Grossman and Rivera met with employees at Solectria Renewables to highlight the state’s thriving renewable energy sector.
Rivera took office as Mayor in January 2014. He previously served as an at-large city councilor. During Rivera’s second term, the council elected him as their vice president: he chaired the Budget and Finance Committee.
