Boston Fisheries Foundation to hold annual seafood Fest on the Pier’s 100th anniversary
The Boston Fish Pier is turning 100 and the Boston Fisheries Foundation is holding its third annual seafood festival at the location in honor of its centennial.
The Boston Seafood Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27. The event will bring together a variety of food trucks and vendors including No Name, Captain Marden’s and Yankee Lobster serving chowder, lobster rolls, fried clams and more.
The best shuckers in the industry will go head to head in the Battle of the Shuckers, any oyster-shucking contest.
“There has been a huge need to bring awareness to one of the oldest continual industries in New England, the fishing industry,” Boston Fisheries Foundation Founder Chris Basile said.
The festival will also feature local art vendors whose inspiration focuses around Maritime.
Children can participate in face painting and interactive games and enjoy the New England Aquarium touch tank.
“This festival is an incredible and unique opportunity for the public to learn about the history, skills, traditions, and values of the fish industry in New England. I’m proud of the diverse food, education and entertainment the festival planning committee has put together for this remarkable occasion.” Said Boston Fisheries co-founder Robert Nagle.
The Boston Fisheries Foundation is a non-profit created to educate the public about responsible harvesting and management and the benefits of sustainably harvested seafood as high-quality nutrition.
Tickets start at $10 with admission free for children 12 and under. VIP and Premium tickets that allow attendees to skip lines are also available. Tickets can be purchased at bostonfoodfestival.org.
