Field Support & Training Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
YouthBuild USA has a contract with the Department of Labor to support data collection systems designed for their YouthBuild grantees. The Field Support Manager will be a central part of the help desk and training team that supports DOL YouthBuild Grantees as they provide data to the Department of Labor.
The Field Training & Support Manager supports the smooth functioning of the Data Services Team by assuming responsibility for the effective coordination and delivery of particular resources for local YouthBuild programs, for in-person and virtual training and the customer service orientation of a phone and email help-desk.
The successful candidate must have experience providing assistance and training in technology to users with a wide range of abilities. He/she must also have a nuanced understanding of how data is collected and analyzed and of why performance data is important in a non-profit setting. Relationship-building and communication skills are of highest importance. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage relationships with a field of nearly two hundred local organizations that is diverse in geography, culture, technical skill level and resources.
The Field Support Manager will be required to travel for as much as 5-8 days per month to YouthBuild conferences or YouthBuild programs to provide group trainings and one-on-one assistance to program staff.
This will include but not be limited to the following:
- Developing and deliver high quality and consistent individual and small group training using multiple modes of communication including web-based seminars, telephone trainings and in-person training
- Providing help-desk assistance to local program staff by telephone, email, and other web-based methods
- Ensuring timely and accurate submittal of data from local programs
- Assisting the Associate Director for Data Management in the completion of certain aspects of contract management such as writing required reports and communicating with federal partners
- Working with the Associate Director for Data Management to ensure that grant and contract goals are met and that work products are delivered on time with accuracy
- propose new features or improved functionality for the data systems, and systems/procedures that support the delivery of excellent help desk services
- Testing new features as needed
- Producing reports and analysis on a weekly and monthly basis to support the work of the Department of Labor and YouthBuild USA
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-4 years of experience either in a technical customer service setting or working in a data-related field in a similar non-profit environment
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with demonstrated experience developing and delivering trainings to small- to medium-sized groups on technical tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, tactically, and creatively
- Experience with telephone-based assistance
- Some experience with database management including data clean up
- Experience building successful queries and reports
- Knowledge of relational database concepts
- Willingness to travel to local programs and events across the United States as needed
- Well-developed skills using Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to learn quickly and deliver quality finished products on deadline
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently
- A record of accomplishment working in diverse, entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and team-oriented environments
- Ability to work well autonomously and also thrive in a team setting
- Ability and desire to work with members of a diverse nonprofit organization
- Flexibility and adaptability
COMPENSATION
