Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst assists the Financial Director in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the annual budget and the analysis and reporting of external reporting requirements. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting in preparation of reporting requirements including Uniform Financial Report, Community Health Center Cost Report, Federally Qualified Health Center Cost Report, and Uniform Data System Report; assisting in preparation of Health Center annual budget, including all excel spreadsheets input, allocations and uploading into general ledger software; monitoring annual budget monthly comparing revenues and expenses by department, by site and overall health center to actual budget; detailing review and analysis of variances to budget including detailed explanations of any variances to budget; general ledger detail account reconciliations and analysis as required; updating of budget information as needed during the fiscal year; assistance in reviewing contracts and grants comparing budget to actual and performing any account analysis as needed.
Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, two years of experience in a professional financial or related field, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Word, knowledge in Solomon or other general ledger package, understanding of budgeting and budget analysis, good analytical and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, able to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
Preferred Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements:
Previous budget experience preferred.
Substitutions for Skills, Experience and Education:
May substitute 4 years of experience in accounting, including budgeting and budget analysis for Bachelor’s.
