Roxbury hosts community health meetingThe Boston Public Health Commission and the Roxbury Community Alliance for Health (RCAH), invites Roxbury residents, health care providers, community-based organizations, and other interested people to a community health meeting. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 21, from 5p.m. – 8p.m. at the Whittier Street Health Center, 1125 Tremont Street, in Roxbury (next to the Reggie Lewis Center). The third in a series of city-wide health forums this year, the meeting is a platform for people living and working in Roxbury to discuss health issues specific to the neighborhood. The Commission and RCAH are interested in working together with residents, community agencies, faith-based organizations, businesses, elected officials, and others to develop a vision for a stronger, healthier Roxbury and to work towards bringing the vision to life. “This event presents a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together not only to learn more about the issues affecting their community, but also to think about what a healthier Roxbury would look like and to be a part of making it a reality,” said Dr. Barbara Ferrer, executive director of the Boston Public Health Commission. “Everyone has a role to play in making our neighborhoods and our city healthier.” |
