Andrea S. Jackson
Andrea S. Jackson was recently named chief advisor to the state Department of Transportation Secretary Richard A. Davey.
Jackson joined the MassDOT team in January of 2011 as the deputy director of Employee Relations. Later that year, she became director of Employee Relations.
Jackson has extensive experience in employment law and benefits. Prior to coming to MassDOT, she owned a consulting firm providing assistance to nonprofit companies in developing performance management policies to comply with federal, state and local employment laws.
Before establishing her consulting firm, she worked for Renaissance Bank Advisors in Atlanta Georgia as legal counsel. As a member of the leadership team, she was responsible for drafting employee benefit plans that were in compliance with IRS regulations.
She also served as the employee relations manager for the City of Cambridge where she participated in collective bargaining, grievances and arbitrations. She also served as the City’s purchasing agent.
She received her undergraduate and law degrees from Suffolk University. She is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and Georgia.
Jackson is a member of the Suffolk Law School Alumni Board of Directors and is an Advisory Board Member of the House of Grace — a transitional home for victims of domestic violence.
