There is a mistaken belief among some whites that poverty is a black affliction from which they are immune.  In fact, the number of whites living below the poverty level is more than twice the number of blacks. 

Rick Santorum must be unaware of this fact.  While campaigning in Iowa he said he doesn’t want to “make black people’s lives better by giving them someone elses money.”

 

According to reports, 84 percent of food stamp recipients in Iowa are white.  So working class whites in Iowa and across America have to determine whether they are so eager to block the door for blacks that they destroy for themselves and all whites the government benefits now available to all the indigent.
