Pine Manor College (PMC), a four-year liberal arts women’s college, recently announced the appointment of Renee LaVerne Harper to its Board of Trustees.

Harper is the assistant vice president and controller at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where she has worked since 1994.  She is also an active member of the Boston Chapter of CPCUs, Boston Chapter of the Black MBA Association and the Boston Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.

In addition to her position on Pine Manor’s Board of Trustees, where she will serve as secretary, Harper also serves as the chair of the YMCA of Boston Achievers Branch and the chair of the VNA Network Board.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in 1977, her master’s degree in business administration at Boston University in 1979 and a master’s degree in accountancy from Bentley College in 1985. Renee earned the CPCU designation in 2006.

In addition to Harper, PMC appointed Serena Strazzulla Kokjer Greening, chair; Brenda Bernstein Shapiro, vice chair; and David L. Murphy, treasurer.

“Our officers’ guidance and leadership is integral to Pine Manor as we work to make education accessible to a broader community of women,” said William Vogel, interim dean of Pine Manor College.
