Barbara Kahn- This is How She Did it! from Robin Hamilton
Robin Hamilton
Hi, I’m Robin, and I am a journalist who tries to keep her ear to the ground.  One topic I’ve covered a lot is the job market.

We all know it’s bad…really bad. But that being said, I have had the fortune of meeting some people who had the wind knocked out of them – only to get back up. They got laid off, or left their jobs on their own will – and decided to turn their bad situation into good fortune.

For the next 10 weeks, you will hear from 10 people – in their own words, about how they were kicked down, and got back up. This is how they did it.

Barbara Kahn

For Barbara Kahn, this is a second career change, later in life. She worked in medical records for years, which provided a steady income for her and her family. Once her children left the nest, she knew she wanted a change. She also admits she always enjoyed the idea of becoming a Justice of the Peace.

One day, she met a woman at a party who was a Justice of the Peace. She gave her solid steps about what she needed to do to become certified. Kahn continued her work as a medical records specialist as she took the course work to gain certification.

People began to really connect with Kahn’s warm style, and soon she was becoming a popular Justice of the Peace. Her business is now thriving.
