Breath and Imagination

Tonight (Thursday), ArtsEmerson presents the musical Breath and Imagination based on the life of African American classical vocalist Roland Hayes at 7:30 p.m. at the Emerson/Paramount Mainstage. Tickets: $69, $49, $39, and $25; www.artsemerson.org.

Berklee’s weeklong 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. celebration comes to a close with a concert on Friday evening featuring Valerie Stephens performing excerpts from Nina Simone: Her Music and Her Times, and Forever Ray performing the music of Ray Charles at the David Friend Recital Hall at 7 p.m. Admission: Free.
