District 7 Boston City Councillor Tito Jackson in conjunction with the City of Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development’s Office of Business Development and the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s Business Development Division will host an Access to Capital Workshop for members of the community currently growing or interested in starting a small business. With an emphasis on businesses in the Roxbury area, this FREE workshop will help entrepreneurs and business owners navigate the complex world of capital access and the multiple options individuals and organizations can choose from when seeking financing.

The City of Boston and the Boston Redevelopment Authority work with State and Federal Agencies to provide business the resources to expand and create jobs. Through grants and loans for capital, the BRA’s Office of Business Development can provide community members with assistance in the following areas: financing, marketing, storefront and signage improvements and management.

Additionally, the Access to Capital Workshop will bring together resources and stakeholders including but not limited to: community banks, independent lending institutions, financial institutions and community development corporations to assist individuals with navigating the difficult world of financial access.

The Access to Capital Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Hibernian Hall in Dudley Square located at 184 Dudley St, Boston, MA 02119, MA at 6:00pm . Individuals are asked to register via Eventbrite at: https://access2cap.eventbrite.com or by contacting Reynolds Graves in Councillor Jackson’s office via email at reynolds.graves@boston.gov.
