Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC)/Equal Justice Coalition (EJC)

The Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC) is accepting applications for an Executive Assistant/Legislative Campaign Assistant to support MLAC’s Executive Director and the Director of the Equal Justice Coalition.

Principal Responsibilities:

The Executive Assistant/Legislative Campaign Assistant provides support to the MLAC Executive Director and the EJC Director. This support includes drafting, editing and disseminating general and legislative correspondence, assisting in planning and implementing the annual legislative budget campaign (including a lobby day and other special events), preparing for meetings, maintaining and updating database and other information infrastructure in conjunction with other staff, researching and providing support for special projects and events, providing administrative support (including back-up support for telephone reception and responding to public inquiries for information) and recruiting and supervising EJC interns in coordination with the Director of the EJC.


Background and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or commensurate experience
  • Demonstrated interest in serving the non-profit sector
  • Prior administrative support experience and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Proven organizational skills and detail-orientation
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of database programs, political and/or grassroots campaign experience, and editorial experience preferred but not required
