6TH ANNUAL HOME SWEET HOME:

New England Premier Dessert and Wine Tasting Competition

New England-area dessert enthusiasts are prepping their palates for the sixth annual Home Sweet Home on Saturday, September 28th at the Cambridge Hyatt Regency. This year, Home Sweet Home will benefit Community Call, an organization that teaches social entrepreneurship to at risk high school students in the greater Boston area. Community Call students are inspired to look beyond themselves and collaborate to identify a social need, develop a plan, and produce an event that benefits the broader community. Students learn organizational, business and entrepreneurial skills, resulting in a sense of achievement and self-empowerment that influences all areas of their lives.

Home Sweet Home is a unique dessert competition featuring over 20 of the Greater Boston area’s top pastry chefs. Chef creations are judged by event attendees, as well as an all-star panel of judges comprised of Jill Epstein (Publisher, Where to Eat and Drink Boston), Jordan Rich (Host, WBZ-AM Radio’s Connoisseurs Corner), Andrew Rimas (Editor, The Improper Bostonian), and Aimee Seavay (Assistant Editor, Yankee New England Magazine). Participating restaurants include: 51 Lincoln, Park, Area Four, Amelia’s Trattori, Bamabara, Bees Knees Supply Company, Bergamot, Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, Cinquecento, Crema Café, The Fireplace, Haley House, Harvest, Henrietta’s Table, Kickass Cupcakes, Konditor Meister, Lulu Sweet Shop, Showcase Live!, Sofra Bakery and Café, Tatte, Temple Bar, Union Bar and Grille, and Zephyr’s on the Charles. Past winners of the Judges’ Award have included Michele Fadden of Blue Ginger and Brian Mercury of Harvest.
