Kenneth Lee O’Neil Baugh, the foreign minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Jamaica, has recently named Denzil McKenzie as the Jamaican honorary consul for Boston. McKenzie succeeds Dr. Kenneth I. Guscott, who has served in that post since 1992.

“This is a great honor and I look forward to continuing my service to Jamaica,” McKenzie said.

As its honorary consul for Boston, Mckenzie will be the local representative of the Jamaican government and will assist with trade and investments inquiries, passports, visas, issues involving the immigration status of Jamaicans and other matters affecting the Jamaican community.

McKenzie is the founder and managing director of McKenzie and Associates, P.C. He began his legal career as an assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He subsequently served as the associate grants and contracts administrator and assistant director of the office of sponsored programs at Boston University.

McKenzie received a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law, where he also studied tax law in the Boston University graduate tax program. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he received a B.A. in political science/economics.
