Tony Rose, the publisher/CEO of Phoenix, Ariz.-based Amber Communications Group, Inc., recently became a member of the 2011 42nd NAACP Image Awards’ Literary Sub-committee in the Instructional Literature category.

Rose will join other notable literary and entertainment figures on the sub-committee, including Maya Angelou, Victoria Rowell and Hill Harper, as they review, evaluate and vote on submitted literary projects. The winners will be announced during the live broadcast of the NAACP Image Awards Ceremony on March 4.

“I am honored to be a part of the 2011 42nd NAACP Image Awards,” Rose said. “In 1909, the NAACP commenced what has become its historic legacy of fighting legal battles so that all Americans can enjoy the benefits of the United State of America.”

Rose is co-founder of the African American Pavilion at BookExpo America. Rose also serves as a founding director of the Harlem Book Fair National and The Harlem Book Fair-Roxbury, and in 2010 he founded the Phoenix Book Fair and Art Festival.

Amber Communications is the nation’s largest African American book publisher of self-help books and music biographies.
