From the Hollywood Studios of Disney World to Bishop T .D. Jakes to the parents of Trayvon Martin, there are no dull moments at the NABJ Convention.
On Thursday, August 1, I presented as part of a panel, "Going Solo: the Joys and Pains of Consulting." This topic is especially timely because of the downsizing in the field of Journalism. Many journalists are making the shift to marketing and public relations and feeling their way to re-branding themselves from "objective" reporters to advocates for clients.
I am so glad I made this shift decades ago.
