At Thursday’s protest Felix D. Arroyo praised Mayor Martin Walsh’s pledge to shield immigrants and said Boston would protect families from being torn apart. “We will protect each other from the harm of the President of the United States,” Arroyo said.
Roxana Rivera, vice president of 32BJ SEIU, spoke to the crowd on Thursday.
Demonstrators gathered at the Irish Potato Famine Memorial downtown, a reminder of Boston’s immigrant roots.
