Information on the Department:

The Office of Communications reports to the Chief of Staff in the President’s Office and defines, implements, and supervises a strategic communications agenda for the university.

Job Description:

The Communications Specialist reports to the Director of Communications and works in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Communications and the Office of Digital Marketing to develop and post content to Lesley.edu and, as appropriate, communicate across interactive platforms, including the Lesley University website, email, and social media channels for audiences such as Lesley faculty and staff, students, prospective students, media organizations, and influencers. The Communications Specialist also works with the Office of the President to develop emails and other communications from the President to any or all of the aforementioned stakeholders. The Communications Specialist also assists in the creation of print materials, as directed, in conjunction with the Office of Advancement or other departments.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least five years of experience writing for the web in a fast-paced, deadline- driven environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of computer and web savvy, basic HTML hand-coding and FTP uploading skills, and an ability to learn and master new web skills and content management systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on deadline.
  • Demonstrated high energy level and ability to execute communication activities that range from routine to highly creative.
  • Proven track record of building relationships across an organization.
  • Demonstrated excellent professional judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Flexibility in workday (some evenings, weekends) to cover University events.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Drupal.
  • Experience with mass mailing HTML-based emails using tools such as Mailchimp or other CRM-based email management.

Additional Information:

Salary Grade 24: $44,856 – $53,378
