DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & COMMUNITY SERVICES (DHCS)

The Town of Easton is accepting applications for a qualified individual to fill the position of Outreach Coordinator, full time, 40 hours per week. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field or Master’s Degree in Social Work or Gerontology preferred; one to two years of experience in working with the elderly or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and the successful candidate must provide proof of an acceptable driving record. Candidate must possess excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products. The preferred candidate would have knowledge of social service and governmental agencies that provide services to clients. Knowledge of departmental operations and the laws, rules and regulations governing the department.

Duties include but are not limited to office visits with clients and making occasional home visits to homebound or unserved residents, explaining the department’s mission and the services it offers; makes referrals and follows ups to appropriate agencies; participates in the emergency planning efforts for the Town; responsible for the administration of the Senior and Veteran’s Tax Work Off Program; makes program reservations, schedules transportation requests; works with the Veterans Services Officer to ensure access to benefits and services for Veterans and their families. This is a union position and the hourly rate of pay is $20.25 per hour ($42,120 annual salary) with excellent benefits.
