Housing Program Coordinator
Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Salaried
Located in Boston

The EVA Center is a survivor led exit program that offers respectful, long term, holistic, comprehensive exit services for women wanting out of sexual exploitation (prostitution/trafficking).

We are seeking a committed and highly motivated person with a personal history and knowledge about exploitation to guide the operation of a new shelter program for sexually exploited women and their children. Under the leadership of its founding director, the EVA Center is now partnering with Casa Myrna in order to expand its programs for sexually exploited women, continuing its commitment to survivor leadership and strength based programming.

The Housing Program Coordinator takes a trauma informed whole system approach drawing on the knowledge gained from the Center’s work with vulnerable populations since 2006 and supports social justice efforts that positively impacts participants and their children.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draws on own experience of sexual exploitation to manage a 9 room housing program for women exiting out of the sex trade and to create an environment of healing and wellness.
  • Responsible for the safe functioning of the housing program along with the Program Director.
  • Provides supervision, leadership, and support to staff, meeting the program requirements as set in program contracts.
  • Builds a strong team of Advocates by creating staff development plans that include on-the-job training, one-on-one supervision, access to outside training, participation in advocacy and activism, and participation in meetings and projects.
  • Acts as a liaison between Program Director and staff.
  • Support staff to ensure participants have access to resources aimed at increasing participant’s knowledge of community resources.
  • Prepares and submits reports as required to document outcomes and effectiveness of services and groups.
  • Networks and communicates with referral sources to ensure participants’ needs and goals are met.
  • Maintains community relationships with public and private organizations.
  • Develops relationships with community providers and serves as a spokesperson on issues of commercial sexual exploitation.
  • Keeps accurate and complete records of all services and activities as required, including but not limited to: data entry into the Casa Myrna database, maintaining weekly progress notes, and maintaining complete and current participant files.
  • Represents and supports the vision and mission of the EVA Center.
  • Provides on-call emergency response on some evenings and weekends and ensure 24-hour staff coverage.
  • Provides crisis intervention, advocacy and conflict mediation.
  • Responsible for other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Personal history as a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation as an adolescent or adult, understanding shelter settings, homelessness, and women with complex needs.
  • Passion for EVA Center’s mission and support strength based programming, and a culture of shared governance, inquiry and learning.
  • BA degree preferred and/or minimum of three years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of women, ability to be flexible and able to manage multiple projects and complex situations and work as a team member.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, car or ability to respond quickly to emergency situations at the shelter program.
  • Promote an atmosphere of respect and cooperation; maintain confidentiality as per EVA Center/Casa Myrna policies, ability to effectively interact with the general public, corrections, police, and co-workers.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding program participants and shelter locations.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
