The Brockton 21st Century Corporation in collaboration with the City of Brockton Mayor’s Office and Brockton Redevelopment Authority is accepting applications for a full time Main Street Coordinator position in the City of Brockton. The Main Street Coordinator will be responsible for creating and managing the City of Brockton “Main Streets Program”. Individual must be able to develop, analyze, and synthesize Main Street strategies, best practices and recommendations in consultation with the appropriate officials and advisory bodies while coordinating and implementing the strategies to achieve program goals and objectives. Responsibilities of the position include the development, execution and documentation of the Main Street Program and related public events within the boundaries of the program. The Coordinator will serve as the principal on-site staff person responsible for coordinating all program activities locally as well as representing the community regionally and nationally as appropriate.

Qualified applicants must have at a minimum an undergraduate degree or seven (7) years equivalent experience appropriate to the responsibilities with emphasis on public relations, public administration, community development and/or small business development. Experience and familiarization with the National Trust for Historic Preservation Main Street model preferred. An understanding of the issues facing Brockton business community, property owners, public agencies and community organizations would be vital to the position. Not required, however fluency in speaking Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
