Bounty-Ful: A Local Wine and Artisan Cheese Tasting event for social cause

Cheese lovers and wine enthusiast are invited to a wine and cheese tasting event that will entertain and support a social cause.
The Boston Collaborative for Food and Fitness is holding “Bounty-Ful: A Local Wine and Artisan Cheese Tasting” from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Benjamin Franklin Institute in the South End to raise funds for the Boston Bounty Bucks program where a dollar-to-dollar match is provided for up to $10 to Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program clients for purchases made at participating farmer’s markets.
Tickets are $35 per person for the 21+ event.
BCFF is a non-profit coalition that coordinates the administration and promotion of the Boston Farmers Market program and works with 27 regular seasonal and winter markets throughout Boston to promote healthy, local and accessible food.
During the fundraiser, attendees will sample wine and cheese from wineries and cheese artisans that use New England area farms.
Some vendors include Coastal Vineyards, Still River Winery, Mill River Winery, Turtle Creek, Crystal Brook Farm, Foxboro Cheese Co., Robinson Farm, Shy Brothers Farm and When Pigs Fly.
Sponsored by the Massachusetts Cheese Guild, he event will also include food from local eateries and live music.
BCFF hopes the fundraiser will allow the non-profit’s discount program to continue growing.
SNAP benefits are now accepted at most farmers markets throughout the city, according to a press release from BCFF.
Since 2008, the financial support for the program from the mayor Thomas Menino’s office and funders such as Wholesome Wave Foundation has grown from $1,310 in 2008 to more than $170,000 in 2012, the press release said.
