What’s Hot in the City this week?

This time of the year, the city is abuzz with a host of live performances from concerts and plays to theatre, art and even dining al fresco. Here’s a look at what’s hot in Boston this week!

Thursday, Aug. 1, Scullers Jazz Club presents jazz musician and songwriter Somi for one show at 8 p.m. Tickets: $25 for show and $65 for dinner and show. Go to www.scullersjazz for more information. Mix, mingle and socialize Friday, Aug. 2, at the Museum of Fine Arts First Fridays event beginning at 6 p.m. DJ Denise LaCarubba gets you in the groove for the 60s Dance Party. Cavalia’s Odysseo – “an ode to horse and man that marries the equestrian arts and awe inspiring acrobatics” – makes its Northeast premiere on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at the White Big Top at Assembly Square in Somerville.
