Cambridge College earns high marks from undergraduates

Between March 15 and May 16, 2011, all degree-seeking, undergraduate-level Cambridge College students were invited to participate in an Adult Learner Inventory Survey developed jointly by Noel-Levitz and the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL). This national survey was created to measure the unique needs of adult undergraduate students. It identifies the importance students place on various aspects of campus life and measures their satisfaction levels. Among the items that Cambridge College students thought were important (and were most satisfied with) were:
• “The faculty in my program are experts and scholars in their field.”
• “My program allows me to pace my studies to fit my life and work schedules.”
• “The learning experiences within my program of study challenge me to reach beyond what I know already.”
• “My studies are closely related to my life and work goals.”
• “My instructors respect student opinions and ideas that differ from their own.”
• “Most instructors use a variety of teaching methods.”
• “This institution has a diverse student body.”
• “I have a clear understanding of what I’m expected to learn in my classes.”
• “I am encouraged to apply the classes I’ve taken toward a degree or certificate.”
• “I am able to obtain information I need by phone, fax, email, or online.”
• “Processes and procedures for enrolling here are convenient.”
Cambridge College is nationally recognized for breaking down barriers in access to quality education. Students who have overcome great challenges have always been central to the college’s mission and enjoy a great deal of mentor support. Additionally, the college has been recognized for serving the African American and Latino communities in New England, and is committed to providing one of the lowest tuition rates among private universities and independent colleges in Massachusetts.
Cambridge College offers bachelor’s degree (B.A. and B.S.) programs; master’s degree (M.Ed and M.M.) programs in education, psychology, counseling, and management; and a doctor of education (Ed.D.) program in educational leadership, as well as certificates of advanced graduate studies (C.A.G.S.). Students may transfer up to 90 credits from regionally accredited institutions into undergraduate degree programs and nine or more credits into a master’s degree, depending on the program.
