Neiman Marcus The Fashion Rules! Party

I went to Neiman Marcus’ The Fashion Rules! party as part of Boston’s Fashion Week and got a chance to check out Stephen Webster’s new jewelry collection which was absolutely fabulous! There were several big, bold and colorful cocktail rings in gold and platinum on display that were to die for!  You know how I adore cocktail rings. They were calling my name but I had to literally pull myself away from the counter so I wouldn’t get into any trouble.

As I continued on my merry way, I saw models twirling around the store in the latest fall 2010 frocks to the magnificient and oh, so delicate shoes on display from the Christian Louboutin Trunk Show, all accompanied to the sweet sounds of jazz by Ski Johnson. Looking absolutely divine on this night were Fashion Boston editor, Alexandra Hall and the owner of Creative Events, AJ Williams.

North 26 at the Millennium Bostonian Hotel

From Neiman’s, I scooted on over to North 26, the Millennium Hotel’s, (you know they never have enough food to eat at these events), bar/lounge/restaurant to indulge in their “bar bites” menu which is fantastic, by the way. Some of the tasty treats on the menu include the griddled chicken pizzette and the Jonah crab rangoon topped off with a wonderful beet slaw and sweet chile dipping sauce, which is not only tasty and surprisingly filling, but also very affordable. Even we fashionistas must be budget savvy these days!

The Stork Club and the Blue Wave

Another Friday and I didn’t have any plans but I got a call from “gal about town,” Audrey Evans and decided to meet her and a few of her friends at The Stork Club. Once I arrived, I was introduced to lovely ladies Teresa Allen, Felicia Faison, Kymie Nichols and Yolanda K. Darnell. And, let’s not forget the handsome men, Daniel Ward, Boyce Slayman Jr. and Kevin L. Drew who were all hanging out in the very comfortable back booth area, where one can see and be seen. I first caught my breath when I walked in since the spot formerly housed Bob the Chef’s and I expected to be greeted by one of the waitresses who had worked there for years, but quickly forgot about those by-gone days as I made my way into the bar area. What a great choice to begin a night of fun! The interior of the club is warm and inviting with the red brick on one side of the wall, coupled with the banquet seats, hardwood floors and soft lighting throughout makes for a very enjoyable night out with friends or a great first or second date.

From there, I headed down to the Blue Wave on Congress Street to hear my favorite DJ in the city, T. Clark. You know when you get in that mood and just need to hear some music to get you going?  Well, this was the night for me. I needed to hear some hip-hop and I knew that T. Clark would be able to deliver with some old school, hip hop and RandB that would bring back great memories.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but I think T. Clark is one of the best DJs in the city. He doesn’t just play the music … he truly feels it and so does the crowd, because they couldn’t stay off the floor as he was spinning everything from Biggie and Guy to New Edition, Black Sheep and so much more! And one of the people that can attest to that is Tanya Mcrae, one of the new hosts of NECN’s styleboston.  Shout-outs to Eddie and Mike for always taking care of yours truly!
