Joseph M. Isles
Joseph M. Isles last month became the new director of Boston Career Link, the one-stop career center operated by Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries.
A Roxbury native and Dorchester resident, Isles comes to Boston Career Link from the state’s Department of Workforce Development, where he had worked since 2004. Most recently, he’d served as the department’s director of business services.
“Joe will be raising the profile of Boston Career Link with potential business partners and residents who are in need of career services,” said Goodwill President and CEO Joanne K. Hilferty. “In today’s economy, we want to make sure that job seekers and employers alike are taking full advantage of the services we offer at Boston Career Link.”
Boston Career Link offers career counseling services, career resources, workshops, job fairs and programs to connect job seekers with employers. Job seekers can also learn about openings and receive assistance with their job search.
“I grew up in this community and I’m looking forward to having a positive impact on the thousands of job seekers in this area who are looking to connect with the right employers,” Isles said. “We are here to help make sure the connections happen.”
Isles has more than 20 years of experience in business management in both the private and public sectors, and spent 19 years in several positions at State Street Corp., including senior global operations manager.
Isles attended Boston Latin School and later graduated from Bentley College with a bachelor’s degree in management. He has served as an advisory board member for the Egleston Square YMCA Youth Center, the treasurer for the Institute for Responsive Education, and a career presenter and volunteer with the Boston Scholars Program.
