The Medicaid Benefits Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the Medicaid process for new and current ESP participants and the timely and accurate completion of new Medicaid Applications and yearly Medicaid Re-determination Applications for all new and existing PACE Participants enrolling or currently enrolled in the Medicaid System. Duties include receiving referrals for potential; that require Medicaid and conducts initial home visits, fostering smooth relationships with potential enrollees sand their families, assisting potential enrollees and their families in identifying and gathering necessary Medicaid documentation and submitting to Medicaid on their behalf. Duties also include communication with the Enrollment team, assisting in resolving issues, networking with Social Worker’s and families to meet annual review requirements, building and maintaining relationships with Medicaid EOHHS (Executive Office of Health and Human Services) Departments to ensure that all ESP participants’ Medicaid applications are processed correctly and in a timely manner, working with Office of Elder Affairs to ensure that all Medicaid payments are processed at the appropriate rate as members become Medicare eligible and compiling and maintaining enrollees financial and Mass Health data as needed/required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Studies, Finance or other related degree, 2 years of experience working in a human services environment, one of which is in outreach and marketing, must have one year of experience working with an elder population, Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, experience with CRM software, proven ability to resolve problems creatively, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Preferred Education, Experience, Skills: Financial experience working with Medicaid, Medicare providers, experience working with MassHealth, Certified SHINE counselor and/or Certified Applications Counselor (CAC), Multilingual English and Spanish, Vietnamese, or Haitian Creole highly desired.
